Explosion-proof department was established in June 1953，which is one of the main test explosion-proof electrical equipment laboratory of coal and chemical industries and is the only authorized IECEx certification system in the industry of the Ex test lab (ExTL). Explosion-proof department is authorized national and provincial scientific and technological achievements inspection appraisal organization by  the former State Science and Technology Commission, the former State Bureau of technical supervision， the former Ministry of Coal Industry, Science and Technology Commission and Technical Supervision Bureau of Liaoning province. The technique power of laboratory is very strong. There are 21 people in the explosion-proof test, research , and standardization, including 1 researcher, 2 senior engineers, 15 engineers, and two people get certified safety engineer. More than ninety percent people have college education, including 3 Masters, 1PhD. After more than 60 years of development and growth, it has become a certain size, strong technical force, and certain influence  explosion - proof inspection agency at home and abroad.
    Explosion-proof department is the predecessor of the Fushun Xin tun bursting station，which history can be traced back to the 1930s and began the explosion protection performance of the motor test then. Fushun mining security institute (CCRI Fushun Branch's predecessor)  was established in June 1953. Fushun Xintun bursting station incorporated into the Institute for security studies, and became electrical explosion-proof Inspection group of security institute machine electrical laboratory. It pioneered the study of explosion-proof electrical technology, and established the first explosion proof electrical apparatus test base in China, and created China's first set of electrical explosion-proof inspection method and device. It has completed the following scientific research achievements: "Explosion-proof Performance Test Device and Test Method", " Explosion Pressure of Explosion-proof Enclosure ", "The Flameproof Parameters of Metal and Plastic Shell ", "Shell Aging and Flameproof Properties"," The Study of  Aluminum Friction Sparks Ignited an Explosive Methane-air Mixture", " The Stress Research of Flameproof Shell under the Effect of Explosion Pressure," "Research on Explosion-proof Enclosure Pressure Rel It",“ The Study of   Electric Heating Ignited an Explosive Methane-air Mixture","The Study of   Capacitive Level Radioactive Spark Ignited an Explosive Methane-air Mixture and Hydrogen-air Mixture ","Ф1.2m Explosion - proof Test Tank Upgrading”, "The Explosion - proof Automatic Distribution System". The explosion-proof technical monograph has been written, "The Explosion-proof Principle", "Mining Industry Electrical Safety", "Electrical Explosion - proof Technology Lecture", "The Coal Mine Electrical Manual", "Electric Explosion-proof", "Encyclopedia of China Coal Industry ", "Industrial Explosion-proof Practical Technical Manual". "Explosion-proof Principle" is the first electric explosion-proof technology monograph, and it is technical staff’s reference essential books in china. Since the founding of  laboratory, it was created the explosion-proof electrical standardization work for our country, and completed formulation and revision of more than hundred the national standards and industry standards, participated in the revision first edition explosion-proof electrical equipment  national standard GB1336-77《Explosion-proof electrical equipment manufacturing inspection procedures》. It many times attend to formulate and revise GB3836 《electrical equipments explosive gas environment"》series standards.
    Explosion-proof department has four different specifications of explosion-proof test tank, and 2.6 meters explosion-proof test tank is the largest in asia. The laboratory can represent the national carry on explosion-proof products quality supervision and random inspection, safety inspection, production license, the testing inspection, quality certification, inspection, arbitration, import and export commodity inspection and related to entrust. Explosion-proof department bear the national explosion-proof type products and mining general electrical equipment inspection and standards revision work, and is also responsible for issuing "explosion-proof certification", explosion-proof type (d, e, I, p, o, q, n, m, and h) of explosion-proof products, "Industrial test license" and mine general electrical equipment "Mine certificate". It is responsible for dust explosion-proof electrical equipment and explosion-proof tools and carrying on explosion-proof inspection work according to international IEC60079 series, EU EN50014, American UL, FMRC standards. There are 115 sets of equipment, various explosion-proof testing devices, such as automatic control explosion-proof test and distribution systems, dustproof and waterproof performance test device, clip tightly sealed test device, and impact test device. American-made equipment BG1 dynamometer, 5200 oxygen analyzer test equipment,automatic control explosion test and gas distribution system are international advanced testing equipment, and the laboratory access two national patents for inventions and utility model.
